It is event season again and as usual I am busy just about every weekend supporting them. Last week was the Salt Lake City Marathon, this week it was the East Canyon Road Race.

These events are one of the reason I love being back in Salt Lake. I really enjoy helping out and being able to give back to my community. The riders are very appreciative of our support and I feel we do a good job at supporting them.

Today we actually has an incident on the course and three riders were sent to the hospital. While this type of thing is not uncommon for these events, this was the first incident on this event in eight years.

This is me getting my graduation certificate for the South Jordan University (SJU) from the Mayor.

SJU was a multiple week program to give a behind the scenes look at the city government. Each week we would focus on a different department in the city. Everything from Parks & Recreation and Public Works to Finance and Police / Fire services. It was a very educational course and a great insight to our city.

Man it was a great day today. Ashley, Ray and I spent almost all day out working in the yard. We raked up the beds to get rid of the old mulch that was not looking very good. There were about 15 bags of old mulch that we collected and now have to get rid of.

Ray was out in front with us for several hours and part of the day he was on the back patio enjoying the nice warm sun. I am so glad that the weather is getting good. I can't wait to get up in the mountains and start hiking again this year...
