The foundation is now in place! You are looking to the South East and can see our garage on the left side of the house and the front porch on the right side of the picture.

Loving Google is ok!
2007-08-28T15:51:36Z

So Google is just about the best thing ever right?!?

Well on SUnday they release the ability (finally) to embed a map into a webpage off of their site without having to code to the API. This is really cool stuff because now you can just create a quick map and post it for the world to see right on the page you make. I am very excited if you cant already tell. As the creator of the map, I can even make changes to the map on Google and they are seen on the online "posted" version... You still cant upload datapoints into a Google map and to do that still require the use of the API, but we are getting really close...

This coming up weekend I will be doing radio stuff for the Salt Lake Half Marathon. Since Google gives me this ability now, here is a map of the course that I created...

They started digging
2007-08-22T 8:45:52Z

On Monday of this week they started digging our hole. Yesterday they finished up the dig and now will move on to the footings and foundation. This process is a bit different from our Dallas houses, as there is a basement involved here...

That was fast...

So after seeing my photo without credit I decided to contact the paper...

I simply said "Photo credit?" and provided a link to the article. Well that was all of about 5 minutes ago and look what shows on the site now...

Good stuff newsreview.com

Hey thats my stuff!
2007-08-17T15:35:02Z

So I was poking around some sites today and look what I found... A picture of my stuff at Defcon...

Yea, so the original picture is HERE and I found this HERE.

You can clearly see my Laptop running the recording applications, which is connected via the USB to serial adapter to my scanner. In the back you can see my speaker badge along with my camera and flashlight.... I guess they did crop out the background and flip the image....

Legal and Official

Permits.jpgWe got a great call today from Emily over at Richmond American... We got our Permits! Yea!!! It seems like we have been waiting forever... So we have a final meeting with them next week to make sure we are all on the same page before they start construction.

I got back from Defcon on Sunday. The con seemed really good this year and there were several good talks that I attended. Our talk went really good. We had a little over 700 people attend, which we really didn't think was all that bad. This year they had the speakers move to a Q&A room after the talks and we had about 20 people follow us there. We spent an additional hour talking with the people in Q&A. I also got to get caught up with some old friends at the conference. It is always good to see people and see what they have been up to. Our guys won the Bot contest again this year. The have said that they aren't going to play next year so we are all thinking we would enter another contest. Maybe the Mystery Box contest...

Other than that things are going well. Ash is getting going with her new job and I am still plugging along with mine. I am working the ULCER ride in Utah County this weekend which should be interesting. This is the first time we have been involved with this event so we will see how things go.

Anyway, have fun...

Defcon 15
2007-08- 2T23:35:52Z

Well we have arrived at Defcon 15. This is the big annual conference that I attend each year in Las Vegas with my friends. Taylor and myself will be speaking on Saturday and believe this is the room we will be in. We counted and there are 996 chairs... Should be good fun...

Why does Wendys on 3300 south by REI give you a new cup when you ask for a refil. It seems like such a waste!
