UDPL

Today, Taylor (pictured above) and I attended a Utah Defensive Pistol League (UDPL) match. The match was very similar to the IDPA matches I have previously shot in Dallas, with only a few differences. The group was very nice and we got to shoot about 500 round each covering 9 stages. This was Tay first time out doing tactical shooting and he did really well! I think I got him hooked...

So things are aways changing and well, we changed our house. We were going to be building with Destination Homes but they did not meet a contract deadline. In addition, they did not call us or give us any indication that they were not going to make it in time. So we decided to back out and go with another builder. So now we are building with Richmond American and are very happy! We have picked out the lot, floor plan, exterior colors and are just waiting for everything to be signed off on (estimated to be tomorrow). The time line will be about the same as the Destination home so there really isn't to much that is different. The picture above is from our lot looking east toward the Wasatch Mountain range. Directly behind me is the Oquirrh Mountains...

Ashley started her school this week and is now on her way to getting licensed in Utah. The entire process should take about 4 months and then she will be back out in the working world. My job is also going well. This will be week 4 for me so I am well on my way and things are moving along nicely...

The ATMs

Well this week at work, things really started to take off. I was assigned a high profile presentation about our ATM network (Automatic Teller Machine not Asynchronous Transfer Mode). It has been VERY interesting to see how the ATMs function and to learn more about the network that interconnects them all. One of my guys to me into the ATM lab and I got to the the inside working of one of the machines. I had never seen the inside before, so it was totally new territory for me. I did end up getting the presentation all finished up on Friday and sent it off for final review. We will be presenting it next week in an executive meeting in one of our Downtown offices.

Next week, Ash is starting up her school and will once again be a full time student. I swear that she needs to find a job that pays her to attend classes. She will probably be in classes for about 5 months and then she will be able to practice here in Utah. As I understand it the requirements her in Utah for the license are one of the top in the nation. So the plus side is you learn a ton, the negative is it takes a lot longer and costs a bunch more. Oh well, she loves it and know that this is what she wants to do....today :)

Why does Wendys on 3300 south by REI give you a new cup when you ask for a refil. It seems like such a waste!
