It's been a bit since I have given a normal update....So lets do one of those now, shall we?
So things are going good at the moment. The house is moving right along. I put some pictures below to give you an idea of the current status. The inside is still in framing, so pictures are really hard to understand. Once we make more progress inside, I will post some of internal pictures. So we are very excited and can not wait to get out of the apartment. We has a water leak here last week (its fixed now) so we are really ready to move on... All in all it has been good and we are really saving a bunch of money by living here so...
Anyway, work is busy as ever. My big automation project that I pitched to the Global VP for Support got approved at the beginning of the month so we are full steam ahead on that. This new position is a ton of work, but I really enjoy it and am liking the management roll. Currently I only have one person reporting to me and she is really great! I am working right now on hiring a second person, so if you know somebody, let me know... We have been having an AC issue in my lab over the last little bit so I just got this temperature monitor that pages me and tells me the temp in the lab. It is way cool! I am going to see if I can get the temp and stuff up on this site as well as some internal sites (you know I am just geeky that way.
Jim and I are still doing the SABAGsecurity Podcast . It is a lot of work but we are seeing a good number of downloads so that keeps us going. Now if we could get a bit more feedback from our listeners we would be all set...
While I was in SLC recently I got fitted for some new earplugs. They just arrived this week, so I am sure Ash and I will be testing them out this weekend, as well as continuing to play with our new camera. Thanks Perry for the login, so far so good!!! Also while I was in SLC I worked the Wasatch 100. You know, I love that event! It is such a good feeling providing a service that is actually needed. Not that the common weekend bike ride or run/walk doesn't need us, but these runners truly need our help. This year was a prime example of this... We had one runner get hurt and we had to call out Search & Rescue. Two medical helicopters, several ground crews on foot and motorcycles later, we got the runner to safety and things we OK. I was fortunate enough to be working Net Control during the event and was accompanied by my buddy Mike (KC7IID) and my brother Taylor (KE7BME). I felt that the three of us handled the situation very professionally and looking back, I am not sure there is much we could have done differently. The crew at the rest stop that hiked several miles with a GPS and Radio to give us the exact location of the runner are also to be thanked. Without them we would have truly been looking for a needle in a hay stack, thanks again guys and great work! I can't wait to do it again next year...
Anyway, here are some new pictures of the house, fresh from my new camera...
