Well I haven't really posted since the holidays were over, so I hope everybody had a great end of the year. Our trip to Salt Lake City was a lot of fun this year. We actually got to spend quite a bit of time with everybody...
At any rate, I have been back at work this week trying to get caught up. When we got back from SLC, Ashley got a new job. Her last day at Crossmark is today and then she will be starting at the new place next week. I will post more information about her job and the company after she gets going in her new position. At any rate, if you see her, congratulate her on the upcoming move.
One of the gifts I got for Christmas this year was a circuit board that would allow me to setup my own IRLP node. IRLP stands for Internet Radio Linking Project and basically connects a ham radio to the internet. What this means, is that using a radio and a computer at the house, I can connect and talk to other hams world wide via a huge Voice Over IP (VoIP) network. Last night I got my node (3682) online. I am still doing a bunch of testing, but at about midnight last night I was able to get my node connected to the Loan Star Reflector (9450) and communicate without any issue. So if you are a fellow ham and want to play IRLP, shoot me an email and we can link up.
Well back to work for me, I want to actually try and get out of the office before 17:00 today...
