It's Almost Time For The State Fair...
2004-09-23T 4:51:45Z

The State Fair of Texas opens this weekend! Ash and I will most likely head down there on Saturday or Sunday. It is open for something like twenty days, so we have plenty of time.

The picture below was featured all over the net and is of a worker getting "Big Tex" ready for the fair. Basically, "Big Tex" is a very tall statue that talks to the visitors of the fair. I know, I know; It gets hot here in the summer so people get a little weird. Anyway, one of the radio stations held a contest to name the slogan associated with this picture. The winner was:

"Finally Proof That Not All Texans Are Bush Fans!"

Well it finally happened; Utah and Texas shook hands and agreed on a reciprocal agreement for CHL licenses. For some time now, Texas has been able to go to Utah, but Utah has not been able to come to Texas. The Official Document can be found here: Official Document

I'm Back...
2004-09-15T 2:45:34Z

Well I am back in the good old US of A, for my quick jaunt to Rome. For those of you who don't know, I was notified on Tuesday that I needed to go to Rome and left on Wednesday. I was doing work for one of our clients and fortunately got some time to go out touring. I have uploaded a bunch of pictures to the pictures page.

Also over the weekend was the Wasatch 100 and once again the stats page was a big hit. I still haven't had a chance to review the logs for exact numbers, but I will in the coming days. Also since my last update Ashley and I went to Austin to visit Heather and her husband Evan. While there we got to see the school that she teaches at and spent some time at the camp the Evan runs. I will be uploading some pictures to the pictures page as soon as I have some time. Thanks again to the two of them for showing us around and we wish them the very best in the new Adventure in Texas.

Well It's Official
2004-09- 3T 0:07:54Z

It was announced this week, that I am now officially Tier III. That means that I am the last level of support prior to development. See, up until now Tier III has always been co-located directly with development which is outside of Texas. Now, there has been a decision to have some Tier III in Plano, and I got the position.

The Wasatch 100 is coming up and I will be running the stats site again this year. If you are interested feel free to check out the page (www.brettneilson.com/wasatch100) during the race to see how things are progressing.

I am also taking two classes at UOP and once these are done, I will only have two classes left until I graduate. My commencement will be March 6, 2005 here in Texas. I am so excited to almost be done and finally have my degree…

Why does Wendys on 3300 south by REI give you a new cup when you ask for a refil. It seems like such a waste!
